how many of you actually read philosophy other than lee's books? lee was an avid reader of philosophy. many people only read lee's philosophies, but this is unfortunate. anyone who does this is only reading small excerpts and depriving himself. i hate jkd people who claim to be fans of philosophy, but only read lee's books and maybe a few chinese ones. most of you clowns are idiotic pseudo-intellectual jkd phiosophical dorks. lee read everything as we all should. i mentioned sartre in an earlier post, but noone seems to have paid any attention. lee's ideas on freedom borrow heavily from sartre.

What a terrible thing to call the majority of the people who post on these boards, "idiotic pseudo-intellectual jkd philosophical dorks". Any true philosopher will never post such an arrogant message, not even Sartre himself. If you wanted every one to embrace philosophy fully then why not recommend some books or authors? Why do you feel the urge to display your so-called knowledge?

I may just be stating the obvious here, but....

Seriously, you seem to be confusing intilectualism for wisdom;

As the man said,(hello Lan-Di!), a truly wise person would have no real concerns with pseudo-intillectualism, or pseudo-intillectuals for that matter, and would not have to prove themselves to such people, unless there are certain insecurities that have yet to be dealt with.

And let's face it, a truly faithful lover of philosophy and seeker of truths isn't insecure, or arrogant,and would definately not lower himself to placing such labels on others, who he doesn't really know anyhow.

I'm not attacking you, and there is a danger that I may just add fuel to the fire, so please take this constructive criticism with the maturity and insight that you expect from others;

Grow up.

This is not an attack, honestly, and to prove it, just go back to some of my old posts (i'm Jakep BTW!), and see what an arrogant A-hole people can be;

You're probably lucky, and won't get caught out in real life for criticising other people on the net, but I did, and was in fact ejected from JKD by someone I offended.

It was hard to take for a day or so, but this taught me so much respect, for myself and others, that my life has greatly improved since!

Try not to waste your time proving yourself to others.

It seems you may have been offended that people ignored what you have to offer, and I agree with the core of what you said in this post, but the simple truths you hold are being divided and tainted by intilectually charged egotism, and I'm sure you're better than that!

Please, if you disagree with my words, then challenge them, but with the maturity that you'd expect from others.

I look forward to your reply, Jake P

you missed the wole point that i was simply annoying you people for comedic reasons...i said i wrote the first post because seeing people become seemingly upset is funny...as far as confusing intellectualism with wisdom ...that's untrue...i said pseudo-intellectuals...furthermore, reading the works of great philosophers is in fact an exercise in intellectualism...an idiot can not undersrtand or appreciate Popper...i'm not insecure just because i make observations of fact...an examle: pam anderon sees a fat, facially scarred woman, with worts, and thinning hair...Pam says, "she's disquistng. yuk!"...pam isn't covering up any insecurities she , but simply stating a fact...as am i. as far as real life...i critcize people to their face when a critique is appropriate...i also compliment people regularly if they are deserving...

you posted to see people upset. Well now people know you are a twat, so what have you achieved? niente.

I went to a supposedly top University in the UK. I met plenty of people who had read loads of books on this or that. Very few of these people where intelligent in my eyes.

I asked my Sifu once, what books to read. He said "one with blank pages". I understand this now, as once you have a clear understanding all these books of phylosophy end saying the same thing.

I find myself reading books on Zen and getting bored because I know the answer. Not because I am supper intelligent, but because have learnt the answers from other books already. I do not need to read another version of the art of war or another version of the same zen story.

This does not mean I close my mind to such books or discussions, but what it does mean is that I do not place so much importance on it. Your understanding of intellectualism is pretty shallow, if I where you I would look deeper into yourself. Read less books and try to understand more.

Question everything, Know nothing.
