I have read one of Bruce Lee's original documents off of the internet and I really liked his philosophy on what martial arts is really about. I like the Idea of freedom and not being confined to a certain style or system and then when an actual situation occures I would be unable to really defend myself against an attacker. But with Jeet kun do I can learn the principles of self defense and alertness at all times. I have studied the art for about 13 years on and off. But since it is not really a style or system I enjoy that alot more because I can be free to use my physical and mental powers in ways that defy reality/ world reality
I am saying that learning to use my mental powers effectively by pushing out systems, styles, set patterns and rules I can be versatile and one with myself. To learn the "outer darkness" {unknown}of physical and mental power is my goal.
To liberate yourself. You have to first have something you have learned. THEN be able to let it go. Not forgeting it but just doing it. Not in set method but in reponce method. Bruce found JKD his path of training the method of his liberation. BUT by skill training. And testing the how of applied action. Not resistive motion. Stiff and non flowing. He spoke Many times of water. This is hard to relax enough to just flow. And flow around anothers defence or offence. water will The human body has to relax and just do. Read the fighter see the moves. attack the openings create the openings Stop the forward motion. attack the motion. committ to what you do. ect
I like your advice on what to do to liberate myself from set patterns and non fluid motions. I will take that advice you gave and use it while I train. Thanks.
