Hey everyone. I was just wondering if any of you out there have tried or are considering trying creatine? I myself have tried it and it seems to work for me. But I would like to hear from all of you....good and (if there are) bad stories cause I would like to learn from everyone. Thanks.

Creatine is a naturally occuring substance in your muscles. It's also in red meats in very low doses. The creatine you can buy exculsively is in a powder form you mix with water. This helps maximize your cell size cause it forces water into your cells. Also then the creatine will allow for faster recovery when lifting weights or performing athletics and faster gains in muscle. It's perfectly safe and there are no known side effects.

I've always been a little wary of ANY suppliments;
I've looked into quite a few, especially protein-based, (for gaining muscle mass), but it seems to me that it would be more natural to get the benefits from eating certain types of food.
The idea of taking concentraited forms of this and that is great if you've got the persiveerance and money to carry on, but for me, I think re-appropriating my diet, making fresh juice from fruit&veg etc, is a more concrete foundation.

I think that my level of training is very low though, and that if I wanted to train more intensively, I would reconsider supplimentary elements.

P.S how much does this stuff cost?

Well......

October 22 2004, 10:35 PM

i've just had a look at a few sights.
The word 'serum' scares me!
'Blueberry flavour' scares me even more!
Hell, I'm just scared generally!!!

But seriously though, there have been a few worries in the media, but they don't seem too reliable.
The thing is, in the serum form at least, creatine is a HIGHLY concentraited suppliment, like quite a few suppliments rolled into one.
I wonder how much of the stuff in it is a little too 'built up' in respect of the hype...in other words, is it more beneficial (and cheaper) to find these active ingredients in other forms, without as much chance of getting the crap that goes with it....?

live long and prosper!

Don't be afraid of it....seriously. The one I use is CellTech (grape flavor). Give it a try and follow the directions on the bottle. After a couple months, if you don't see a change, then it doesn't work for you. I've never heard a complaint though and you need to take it on an empty stomach otherwise some of the creatine will absorb into the food in your stomach and get passed out when you defecate. You are right. It is concentrated.....which is why is works so well. Have you ever had great results with something that is watered down or dilluted? Keep up with the vege and fruit juice from the juicer. That stuff is good for vitamins and minerals.

Creatine is great...

I have taken creatine off and on for over five years and it works great. I recommend Cell Tech from Muscle Tech as well. There is a new Ester based creatine that is out that I am going to try.

I also recommend Glutamine to slow catabolism.

Creatine and other supplements

October 26 2004, 9:03 AM

First off, Creatine works great. No side effects will occur with the taking of any "natural" body supplment. Eating the correct foods is ideal to gain the proper amounts of supplements your body desires. However, who actually eats as healthy as they used to?

Essential Supplements that I take and it all works well.

1. Vit C
2. Whey Protien
3. Creatine
4. Animal M Stak
5. Lots of water

Does creatine increase your strengh or does it make them bigger?
Personally I try not to get big muscles but small, dense ones. If I took creatine would it enlarge my muscles thus slowing me down?

I've tried it in High School. I couldnt tell if it was working or not because I was lifting a lot and training everyday. I think I could have got the same results with out, if I did benifit, it was very little.

This may sound wierd, but I swear, orgasims seemed more intence. However, I read somewhere that when you are healthy and strong, sex is better. So honestly, I dont know if Creatine did anything...

I do believe that Protien shakes are good for ya. I try my best to take in a lot of protien. I tried a little test. I actually stopped working out for a few months (due to injury) but continued taking in high amounts of protiens and found that my body maintained muscle. When I work out and not use protien suplements, I find it difficult to grow muscle and I become drained, no energy.
