I just wanted to know if anyone had any tips on practicing JKD alone because i dont have a sparring buddy.I've tryed imagineing an opponite and sone other things but i was wandering if anyone else had some ideas.
solo training can be hard in a mental sense , since after a while bordome can set in and take away yourmotivation. but there are aways ways to over come that. usualy a good MA movie helps. creat a program for your self this is a few ideas say you want to train 2 hours,3 times a week. example:
30 mins. streaching and power excersises, these can include
pushups, situps, jumping jacks, running , skipping ,jumping rope, weights, etc. and the other 1 1/2 hours for training with equipment, punching bags, speedball, woodendummy, etc, and solo drills in front of a mirror(shadowboxing, kickboxing, footwork, solo techniques(like you mentioned imagine your opponents as you do your techniques in the air for speed and cordination( do single techniques, and 1,2 and 3 cobinations working to 5 count combinations for developing flow.)play some music for rythem, be creative and have fun.
