Structure

Hello findog!

The Sil Lim Tao form from Wing Chun Gung Fu is part of the Jun Fan Gung Fu curriculum from Seattle. It is very important to the structure of Jeet Kune Do. Most people do not understand this, but it is because they have never experienced it! If you are going to teach the entire Jun Fan Gung Fu/Jeet Kune Do curriculum. Sil Lim Tao must also be taught!

Sil Lum Tao ( THE LITTLE IDEA)

November 12 2004, 10:53 PM

Lamar, I completley agree with you on this.

When i began studying JKD as it was originally been taught in the JFJKD GF era days we learnt the SLT form as well. It is a great WC form. It has alot of great attributes one can build from as well as many JKD principles that were developed from WC out of this one form.

It is my understanding that Sijo lee only used to practice this one form also is this true?

Thanks

Bruce Lee and the Sil Lim Tao Form

November 12 2004, 11:36 PM

Hello!

I was told by several of Bruce Lee's original students that this is the only actual FORM that Bruce Lee continued to practice on a regular basis throughout his entire adult life! I am sure that he understood the many benefits of the form, therefore he also understood the need to train the form continuously! As a general rule, I make sure that I go through the Sil Lim Tao form a minimum of five times a day, and sometimes even more than that! Sometimes I teach seminars on the Sil Lim Tao, and there is no telling how many times I actually do the form during the course of the seminar! It is required learning for anyone who wishes to achieve Apprentice Level I under me.
