You know, jump up, land with your knees bent at 90 degrees,(like sitting on an invisible chair)but with legs apart,one foot in front of the other, and jump up again, switching lead foot alternatively.
Start out by doing sets of about 50, for 'explosive leg power'.
Also, if you want to give youself the edge on the day, wear ankle weights before you have to jump, take them off, and fly to the moon!
