Happy new year everyone.

A long time ago I remember reading that Bruce Lee told someone
he disbanded his school because the students 'just did not
get it.' There are many quotes on the closing of the schools
but I believe this one is rare, meaning not very reported or talked about.

Does anyone remember where this was written and by whom?
Also what would be the most significant meaning to this
statement?

thanks

As i have read, The students were advertising that Bruce Lee taught them. Bruce didnt want that advertising and wanted to populate the philosophy of inner power, not external power.

Hello!

I know that Bruce Lee made this statement to Hawkins Cheung! What he meant at the time was that many of his students failed to realize the impotance of the Wing Chun structure to Jeet Kune Do. Without the strong structure developed from Wing Chun training, the students just "didn't get it" when it came to properly performing Jeet Kune Do with maximum effectiveness!

Thank you Lamar for your answer and additional information.

Since you remember this as true, do you remember exactly where
you read it?

thank you again
