Hello everyone

I thought and I hear it is well documented that no one is allowed to publish a jkd book anymore. I thought you cannot use jkd in the title or you will be sued. Many web sites like big jkd have been taken down and magazines can't use Bruce lee pic's and things like that.

So how come David Cheng can write a book JKD Basis and have it published buy tuttle books?

The problems came from the Bruce Lee Estate/Concord Moon when they tried to enforce new rulings on CFW Enterprises (also known as Unique Publications & Video). The owner of the company was very upset, therefore he discontinued all Bruce Lee/Jeet Kune Do related books and videos, and also no longer accepts Jeet Kune Do articles for the magazine (where the term Jeet Kune Do is blatantly used anyway). As for the term Jeet Kune Do being used in the title of an instructional book, as far as I know, if a person is a recognized and certified legitimate instructor (which David Cheng certainly is - and also a personal friend of mine), then there is no problem with them writing books on the art! I have twelve more books coming out over the next three years, all of which will feature the words Jeet Kune Do in the title!
