I would be interested to know what other people think was so special about Tales of the Gold Monkey. I remember it very well, it always giving one that feel good factor. I wish it would be repeated here in the UK, so much so, I recenctly wrote to the BBC who originally screened it, asking them to repeat it for the anniversary, however, it seems I was just ignored.

I have a few episodes on tape, 'Trunk From The Past' being my favorite. I think the blend of characters in conjunction with the locations, and especially the music and sound effects, make this one of best. The love between Sarah and Jake, which is always riding under the surface, is used to its full extent in this episode. I especially like the section were Jake gets Corky to take the loadstone back and forth to the end of the plane, thus breaking the holding of hands between Sarah and her old friend.

I really cannot understand why with all the repeats on television nowadays there is such a reluctance to repeat this series. Are they mad?

The show portrayed some of the characters as enemies, but deep down, I believe they were all friends...and the dog was cool too. I have all of the episodes on tape if anyone wants them. Just let me know. Oh ya, Marta Dubois was THE BEST. (even when she was on star trek)

After all these years, I can not believe there is a website for this wonderful show.... I know what was so special, the show was awsome..... I wanted to be stuck on that island, in fact I hated the women actors, well not hated, but very much envious. By the time I'm 50 i will be living on some islnd with a plane that does'nt work and a bar full of old scotch.................. I hope that the BBC will eventually entertain your request... This show is one that should not be forgotten...............
