In passing, a friend on mine mentioned a restaurant called "The Gandy Dancer". I looked up the word, and sure enough it's an old railroad term which came to mean a wanderer or drifter. Pretty fiting for the Character in TOGM with that name. Wikipedia has some info on the term http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gandy_dancer.

Thought you Monkey fans might find it interesting.

I knew the name came from something to do with railroads, but I didn't know how interesting the origin was. Thanks for the trivia!

Hello,

Since I played the part of Gandy Dancer I was aware of the origin of the characters name. Thanks to all the fans for keeping a fun show and character alive.

Have a great new year everyone. Who knows? Those mines may be somewhere in the South Pacific. We just have to keep looking.

Hello Mr. Lucking! It's nice to see an actor who still fondly remembers a role! Gandy Dancer was a great character, and it is always the character that I remember you for! There should have been more episodes with Gandy in them!

Thanks for remembering Gold Monkey! We sure remember you!
