| Statement: | If you haven't read this for an hour or so, the wish list has probably changed AGAIN! - Planning 50th birthday present from wife and some other purchases, naturally! Time to spruce up the watch collection! - For my 49th birthday, my brother and his wife just got me a Casio Pathfinder 1500 all-titanium alti/barometer/compass/tide graph/moon phase thingy, atomic-regulated and solar powered, great for walks in the English Lake District and Snowdonia, North Wales, which are both only an hour from me, but in opposite directions.... Now, for my 'best' watch, I could just go for an MM300 (which I would probably constantly worry about scratching, the inaccuracy would bug me having worn quartz/kinetic for at least 20 years, as would having to send to Japan for servicing etc every four years - it would be a special 50th birthday present and therefore a definite keeper)- OR - (not wishing to be predictable - I'm a trend-setter rather than a fashion-follower, after all!) - for the same cash - (OK, a bit more!) - I could snipe these beauties which are on my wish list - Oris TT1 diver, steel, blue dial, full size seconds, on bracelet, (but still strongly considering Seiko SBDD003 dark titanium kinetic direct drive diver instead, but have you been watching its price rocket lately??). Also, I need a Seiko SAGV003 kinetic perpetual auto-relay Brightz (with gorgeous, textured, white face, close-up), for office and black/navy and grey suit wear/new job interviews, (retire from present job soon), (also considering SARB035 for half the price (but somehow just a bit old-fashioned and boring-looking in comparison, nice though it is; and - (what a beater!) - definitely an SNDA63 orange Velatura diver's chrono for 'leisure use', (plus the bracelet from SNDA59) (Yeah, baby! - I did say I was a young 49!) - that is a hunk of watch with a lovely shade of orange dial, and so much easier to glance at the time than on the SNDA59 even if that orange face didn't just pull you in anyway!) - I might need room for the upcoming SCWF dial design watch too - 'She' says I can get a motorbike too - looking at Moto Guzzi Norge 1200GT/L.... fancy the red one, but only silver avail in UK - this little lot will no doubt cost me in large diamonds! |
