Submission and Voting Guidelines
Submissions are received on the basis of 1 per person per month. So pick your best. A submission must be made by email to canoe@algonquinadventures.com in the form of either an attached JPG file or an URL to the location where your JPG file is available online. A submission should be at least 640x480 pixels in size. Please downsize your file to a fraction of the original digital camera or scanned size. Originals can be "megabytes" and will clog-up mail-servers and take me ages to download by my dial-up service. I'll be downsizing files to 120x90 pixels for grouped viewing and to 640x480 pixels for individual viewing. Submissions for a month will be received during the month's first specified period (approx. 3 weeks). After the cut-off of submissions (mid-day of last day), a specified period (approx 1 week) of voting will ensue. After the cut-off of voting, the photo with the highest percentage of the vote will be formally declared the month's choice and bestowed with all appropriate bragging rights. Submissions have to be taken (at any time) within the geographic boundaries of Algonquin Park and must have been taken by the person making the submission. While "darkroom-type" computer cropping, levelling and exposure adjustments are perfectly legitimate; deceptive computer techniques such as copy-pasting, stretching and montages aren't acceptable. Full photo credit will be shown to the submitter. Copyright remains with the submitter. Reproduction will be limited to the two website image copies described above. Selection of each month's winner will be based on the Network 54 Votelet feature, using the Network 54 Log-in for voting accuracy. |
