How to get the most from your Crosman.

Valve retention upgrade

by

Please take the extra effort and see that your gun is safe. Crosman does this for you when a new gun is purchased but now that you have undertaken a life of addiction you must do it for yourself. If you have modded your valve then this mod needs to be done as only one small screw loosely holds your valve at this time. This is also an accuracy and durability mod. It is explained in greater detail here than on the valve mod page so that it can be plainly understood by all.

1- Put the tube over something and spin it to make a line around it at the valve screw and port. The two large holes across from each other.

2- After center punching just drill through the tube and slightly into the valve. Or put an old valve in place and drill into it. Less burrs when done with a valve installed. I have used 6-40, 6-32 and 8-32 set screws for these. One on each side should do.

3- Remove the valve now you may need to put a dowel or rod against it and tap it out.

4- Tap the hole according to the screws you have and holes you have drilled.

5- I use a couple of small files to get rid of the burrs inside the tube. The valve will slide freely through the tube when you get it right.

6- Now drill holes slightly larger than your screw size, at the marks you made on the valve when drilling the tube, should be a slightly deeper than what you see here. Or if your good valve was removed install it now mark the spots and drill.

Looks good when you are done and your face won't be wearing the valve when you pull the trigger on your beefed up gun. This is what I do the valve could be pinned also and I would recommend pinning for anyone going to higher than co2 pressures. Think safe be safe.
