When we first met
In the World Wide Web
We felt frightened of
Revealing the history
Our story seemed so fraught
With anger
And failure and mis-steps
The experts had all extolled
The virtues of their theories
Reminding us once again
That we couldn't do well
Lacking as we did
In their knowledge and education
And yet...
When we first began to venture
To pose a question, a snippet, a glimpse
We found companions
We realized that parenting
Is not about being
'Just like everyone else'
It is not about a program
Or a plan
Where one size fits all

It is about who we are
It is about who our children are
And about who we were
Meant to be
When your life is blessed
With hard-to-raise children
Or even any child
It is a parent's joy
And burden
Growing, Nurturing, Caring
Learning that it is in the DOING
And not the KNOWING
Recognising how blessed
We are
That our lessons are so clear
And now, in this place
We have finally found a home
