WHL Discussion Board Guidelines

Please take a moment to read through the following board guidelines that have been drawn up. Any questions can be reported to the board moderators, at boardmoderators@hotmail.com

TAKE ME BACK TO THE MESSAGE BOARD

1. The board monitors will try to stay in the background as much as possible

2. Posts will be deleted under the following conditions:

a. They contain what the board moderators consider racial slurs

b. They contain what the board moderators consider foul or defamatory language

c. Poor “netiquette” is used i.e. exposing personal information about players, other posters, coaches, etc.

d. They contain what the board moderators consider name-calling or criticism of a personal nature.

3. Posters will be blocked or ALL their posts deleted for a specified period of time, if, in the opinion of most of the board moderators and after a warning is posted on the board, it is necessary to maintain the quality of the board. The initial ban will not be a permanent one, but any subsequent ban will be for repeat offenders.
Posters please remember if you post in response (Respond to this message) to a post that you believe will be deleted, your response will go away with the deleted message.

4. The board moderators will maintain anonymity of posters. I.S.P. addresses and their accompanying nicknames will not be revealed by the board moderators

5. Ultimately, there will be some “judgment” involved when deciding to delete a post, and deleting any post will undoubtedly leave at least one person unhappy. But some forms of expression have no proper place on 40684, even if they are within the legal realm of “free speech”. If anyone whose posts have been deleted feels their “free speech” rights have been violated, let them go to the gray board (or a zillion other places on the Internet) and post away.

7. The identities of the board moderators will no be revealed to anyone.

To keep messages from moving off the first page too quickly, scores updates for a single hockey game shall all get posted under the same thread.
